  • Ambient door light not working

Back in May I had my window regulator replaced and shortly after the light stopped working in the door. I knew it was probably caused from the repair but decided to wait till my next oil change since it wasn't a pressing issue. I dropped my car off over the weekend and this morning I get a call and the guy is giving me prices to change the light bulb. I try to inform him I believe it was cause by the repair they did. He tells me its been too long since the repair. So my question is how long do dealerships warranty their work and should I be covered? I have 2 years left on my certified warranty and I also have an extended warranty.

If you are under 36k, GM should cover it.

I thought that too but I'm at 15k miles, I emailed Sunrise Chevy's customer relations person so hopefully they'll get this resolved.

Maybe over 36 months??? However, then the "extended warranty should kick in...but that may be only for driveline type issues.

Well I talked to someone at sunrise and they refuse to fix it so I called chevy corporate. They'll call the dealer and figure out the situation. It's interesting to note that when I talked to corporate they were able to see that my car was bought certified and it still has 20+ months left but sunrise says I don't.

Well I go to pick up my car today after the dealer and GM wouldn't fix the light and I discover a lovely door ding! Safe to say Sunrise won't be working on my car anymore.

Call corporate again about the door ding. They may fix it.

They agreed to fix it so I left the car with them. Hopefully they do a good job.

They definitely did, they ended up fixing the light. But the body work looks good and they detailed the heck out of the interior so I'm just glad this is over.
