  • Oil Pressure at zero

Really upset, but this is par for the course for me when it comes to bad luck. I just drove my car back from St. Charles yesterday. So this is my FIRST DAY with the car after it was modded at Nickey.

Drove it less than 3 miles since then, basically to the gas station and back, then to the front of my house, so I could work in the garage.

Started it up, oil pressure gauge cycles, but then pegs at zero on the return. Oil level is fine according to the dipstick. Not sure what to do, since I obviously can not drive it, even around the block to get it in the garage.

Oil pump is brand new, a Melling pump. Don't think it would be the sending unit, since I would think the gauge would peg high. Don't think it's the gauge since the LCD readout also shows zero oil and tells me to stop the engine immediately.

Don't even know what to do. No answer at Nickey, assuming they are off work by now. Even if I have them look at it, how do I even get it over there lol.

Well...so much for enjoying my "new" 620 rwhp car. ((sigh))

Nickey runs a quality shop there from what I saw, i am sure he will stand behind his work, it's way too early to determine if it's the pump, a sensor or where the problem is !

How's the oil pressure? Don't like to see a fellow Camaro in trouble.

You did the right thing by turning it off and not driving it. The wiring electrical gremlin we chased down for you was causing a similar issue when then engine was going into protect mode because no oil pressure was registering.

We'll check it out right away.

Enjoy your weekend with your family.

Yup, thanks so much for looking into it. Probably good that it's not here, and therefore no temptation to drive it. Too much to do this week.

P.S. And thanks for letting me meet Arnold. Michelle wants to have him over for dinner.

Thanks. I'm sure it will get sorted out.

Megan is about 75% better if I had to put a number on it. Her incapacitating migraines are now only headaches. Her double/triple vision is now only blurred. No more throwing up / nausea. Still have more specialists to see and more tests to take, but we are no longer thinking it's anything life threatening. MRI and Spinal Tap, all results are negative. Still some Pituitary issues, but no tumors.

Long recovery ahead, but we figured we would start her off right by giving her a H.S. Graduation party this weekend, as long as she's up to it. Most of the teachers let her skip the last 2.5 weeks of school since she was getting high A's anyway. She did have to take 2 exams, but the school was nice enough to send over a tutor to give her the tests orally.

And the really good news is that even though she is only going to a Community College, she just received word that she is going for free with the Board of Trustees scholarship.

Picked it up Friday and still getting used to it. Looks and sounds very mean. Stefano/Nickey took care of the problem no questions asked, and even refused the $$$ I offered him for his time. Very cool.

I wanted to go to the 2 events this last weekend, but since I got off work at 2 pm, I was unable to go. I hope to see you guys at an event very soon.

Will post some new pictures once I take care of some minor details.

P.S. I stopped at the local Chevy dealer in Homewood on the way home from Nickey, and they were having a car show out back, so I revved it as I drove down the line of cars. I think a couple of the old timers pooped their pants.
