It's story time...so I had to get my oil changed this weekend...yep unfortunately at the same place I had my brakes done Webb Chevrolet in Plainfield. This is the only place I've taken it for my oil change. I wait my hour and a half pay my $83 and get in the car to leave & my engine light is on. Now I know they have to reset it, I tell the manager and he said "the mechanic said that is on because you have an aftermarket CAI" I said that has never came on before because of that. He calls the mechanic over he repeats why the engine light is on & then said your aftermarket CAI is causing the engine light to stay on the system doesn't recognize after market parts let me show you what I'm talking about and proceeds to lift the hood. I said "dude Im aware what's under my hood and this hasn't happened before" he shrugged his shoulders and walked away = ) another online taught mechanic out on the loose repairing today's cars ! It did reset after 4x of starting it & shutting it off. Sorry the story is long its just funny that we are told something & should just go along with it = ) Happy New Year everyone !!

Might be time to take it to a different dealer. Don't mean this in a bad way but after your brake ordeal, I would not have given them another dime. I have the same issue here in my town, sucky dealers. I take my car to a Chevy dealer 40 minutes away because I trust them and they know something about cars.
You're right, your CAI shouldn't have caused the light to come on. I would be worried now though as to why it is on. Take it somewhere that will read the trouble code. Most auto parts stores will do this free of charge.
Hope this helps.sigpic

no offense taken thank you though. That's the first time when the oil was changed it happened and just the asinine answer was kinda lame. My brother actually has one of those diagnostic machines that when I first got my car when my engine light would come on in a panic I'd take it by him and it was the gas cap not being clicked.

I don't take my car to any dealer for oil changes. I only use Duke of Oil. Always had good results. The last time I used a dealer was for our Jeep. The next day the wife drove to Michigan City to shop and back.(80 miles) The next day I went out to the garage and found oil on the floor. I checked the dip stick and it was dry. Towed the car to the dealer and they found the filter loose. I've never used a dealer for oil changes since.'13 Camaro SS/RS Blue Ray Metallic w/silver stripes, Auto, Rear Vision Package w/camera, Embroidered Console, Blade Spoiler, sunroof.
