This is all dependent on how many miles you actually have on the rotors.

Resurfacing a rotor simply smooths the surface for the new pads to seat better and also to clean the surface.

almost 50k miles on a set of rotors is a lot of miles. They should be changed with that type of mileage IMO.

The price on the rotors seem really high...I would look into purchasing those on your own. I did that and it saved me a ton of money...Made the situation of having to get brake jobs much less painful in terms of my wallet...

Thank you she was already at the shop & taken apart = ( I picked her up yesterday and my painful bill was $1615.08 with a $15.99 charge for oil disposal? Expensive lesson learned. Thanks to everyone's advice I'll know what to do the next time = ) Thanks everyone and my donation to Webb Chevrolet in Plainfield should be sufficient for this year.

Feel your pain man...I learned the same lesson with a very similar bill about a year and a half ago!

Jeebus H. Tapdancing Christ. I had an entire suspension overhaul installed for less than that.

Really... could you make me feel any worse about it? hee hee it was more like holy bajesus batman...I know, I know my same thoughts when they called about the final price but it was actually $300 less then their original lynching, like that makes this pill easier to swallow.

Because I've been there before and way over paid for something that I could have had done elsewhere and didn't realize/know.

I certainly won't be having them work on the Vette....

Maybe it was the female thing, like I'd not check with anyone but it really was too late to ask them to take it down so I could drive it elsewhere. Lesson learned...note to self...marry or date a mechanic...thanks again = )

haha, dont date or marry a mechanic... they get so tired of working on cars because they do it for a living, that their own vehicles get left aside... Hence why I technically am an ASE certified tech, but i work at a bank. I can still enjoy working on my own cars.
