I need a new transmission!

My brother in law has a 1995 Z28 5.7L with a 4L60E automatic transmission. The car just broke 100,000 miles and has been a great, reliable car. The car is stock. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on who should rebuild the trans? He doesn't want to put in a lot of money into the car as his income is down. He would like to get a couple of more years out of the car. He lives in Mt. Prospect and has no forward gears, but reverse still works. Thanks for your help.

Check LS1 tech and MFBA. It sounds like an electrical problem though, the trans might not be toast.

It doesn't seem to be an electrical problem. It's going to need a rebuild. I was just asking who you might recommend, given that this is a stock 1995 Z28 and we are trying to get a couple of years out of this car. Any recommendations?

You can get a used one if you're looking to save some cash. LS1tech.com. LTXtech.com and mfba.org are good places to look. If you want to get it rebuilt there are a ton of local trans shops.
