  • Service Tire Sensors

So today I was filling my tires. As I was doing so I reset my electronic read out on my dash. It said it was reading them. Then all of a sudden it stops and tells me service my tire sensors. Anyone else have this problem? Car has 17800 miles on it. Stock Perelli tires.

I can't say that I have seen that. I presume that it hasn't gone away after cycling the ignition on/off, etc?

No it's gone through several cycles now through on and off. I tried to reset it a few times to pick up a new read on the monitors and nothing. Really not a huge deal since I check mine manually too but that damn light staying on is bugging me! Haha

Maybe try unhooking the battery for a little bit and hook it back up. Worth a try.

Are you sure the one of the tires isn't over inflated?

We deal with that a lot at my job. Normally, the sensors just have to be reset and it takes 5 mins tops. It does need a scanner tool tho. Aside from that, theres a DIY online that shows you step by step on how to do it without a scanner tool.

Possible bad RCDLR or it picked up another cars TPMS when in learn mode, we see that a lot at my work.

How is the range on your RKE fob? More than 20 FT?

what i would suggest is park the car, pull the Ebrake up... and then the process to help the car learn your sensors is....

start by letting air out of the driver side front tire first... its about 3-4psi.. then the horn will honk...

then you move onto the passenger front tire and do the same... until it honks... then you work your way to the back tires in a clockwise pattern. Once you do all 4 tires it will honk 2 times and you are done.

I just went through this with my new wheels and i accidently tried reseting the while in proximity to my old tires. i bet that will do the trick
