In addition to my door and dash panels I decided to expand the amount of toys I wanted in my Camaro. I have always really wanted the steering wheel radio touch controls and the PDMI in the center counsel for my iPod that were part of the connectivity package. Now at the time I didn't have the money to pay the extra $1,000. So I payed $80 for the radio controls and $150 for the PDMI, now both of those prices include shipping. To save even more money I installed both of them myself. The touch controls took about 30 minutes and I had to take apart the steering wheel. NOTE: Make sure you disconnect the battery first and give the system 30 minuted to discharge so that you do not inadvertently activate the air bag. The PDMI took 90 minutes to install. Both are very easy to do, and when you are done you just have to go to Chevy to have the BCM (Body Control Module) and the radio reprogrammed. That took 2 hours because we had to call GM and get a code from them. The good news is that now my window sticker has been updated to reflect the upgrades as if they were on the car when it left the factory. All in all the trip to the dealer cost $170, $120 in labor and GM charges $50 for the code and BCM update. This was money well spent and they are both great additions to my Camaro.
