Correct. They are. I recommend neither if you are even thinking about tracking the car.
Racing is my life, everything else is just minor details.

Oh, and also, it seems that Pedders is sourcing their coilovers from BC Racing... and we have been seeing some breakage with the Pedder's units around here. Not 100% sure what the failure points have been, but there's been discussion on Camaro5 about the merits or faults of the double adjustable construction.

              This.

The breakage is severe leaking from the rear shock tubes... As in streaming fluid. And noise, and not so stellar customer service from pedders... And don't get me started on their "expertise"

But... Like I said... If you don't track the car you should/could be ok

                jaf2424,

In order to give you a good answer it would help if you could tell us what you plan on doing, ie; DD, road course, etc.

I own the Pedders XA and had some issues last year but it was traced to a bad batch of monotubes. I have since had them replaced and I have not had any issues with many track days since. I like my Pedders both on the street and the track. The ease of adjustability is great but customer service can be difficult to get a hold of but once you do they are top notch.

IF you are in the market, BannonM has a used set for sale on the following post.

He is a great guy and with a year left of warranty it looks like a good deal.

Any other question feel free to contact me.

                T.
The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

I think that's a little harsh for at least Pedder's. I know these guys had issues but I bought mine after that problematic batch and have no issues. Let me just say that back in September I popped my side air bags pulling 1.5Gs in turn 5 at Blackhawk. How do I know that? Because GM dumped the data from the computer and showed me what I was doing at the time. If XAs were not at least decent, doubtful I could have managed that and stayed in control of the car. I hitting 1.0-1.3 Gs the majority of the time. Granted, I have a pretty modded car suspension-wise and it's not all due to the coilovers. But they definitely play a part in it.

My favorite line to those guys with 1LEs on C5 is "oh, your car can pull 1G, that's cute."

                    ^ I like that!

Here is an example of Pedders customer service.
