GM Strut Tower Brace

Just got my GM strut tower brace yesterday. Whats cool as this is the same one that is on the convertibles and 1LE/SS. It's not supper expensive $140 with shipping, and took less than 10 minutes to install by myself. However there is a drawback, it will not fit models prior to midyear 2011. In mid 2011 GM changed the strut towers, you will know if you have them because they will be per-drilled and threaded. But if you do have a mid year 2011 and up it's a great add on for handling as well as looks.

Yeah the strut bars are not bad priced. The only thing I didn't like was the casting of the mounting brackets. Apparently they use sand casts and don't bother to clean up the mold lines. I took mine and used a grinder and sander to smooth away the seams. Then used black truck bedliner paint on the mounts, and a CFM to paint the bar. The bedliner paint dries with about the same texture as the original cast part, so it kind of matches the CAI intake tube finish. I didn't feel like spending a day sanding and polishing.

The only thing that bummed me was that the Showstopper ABS cover doesn't fit anymore with the strut in place.

LOL, yeah I thought that was yours. Since I store my car there I have keys to the shop and stopped by to grab some of my tools early. Took the day off to do some work at home to appease the wife so I can work on the car this weekend. Like the new wheels way better, what was the previous owner thinking.

I'm thinking about painting the end pieces. Any ideas, I might change the shade of silver or black.
