Dont worry all, this is completely normal.

The idea in sport mode is just that. The whole concept of keeping the car in or as close to the power band as much as possible. So what the computer is trying to do is determine what rpm will be best when coming out of those turns or while you let off the gas and go depress it again.

Best way to think about it, when you are in drive mode- the idea is more drivability, gas milage, and comfort. So shifts are light, lower in the RPM, and smoother.

just like a manual car, if i were to shift in 3rd gear while going 25mph, the car would lug and barely have any power- what i need to do is downshift to 1st gear so the RPM is higher and i actually have power. So your computers are doing the same thing- it will attempt to hold you trans in the gear that will have not only the best available power, but maintain traction as well. Thats why you wont see it holding the RPM at like 5000 rpm, but probably more like 3-4000. Thats where power really comes on but is still managable.

Feels a little goofy but you will appreciate it if you stomp on the throttle. There wont be as much of a delay as the computer attempts a sudden downshift, it will all be ready for you to go.

LOL! You're good Della. Seriously, I was just kidding. I don't know much more than turn the key and mash hard on the right pedal.

Get a tune, adjust your shift firmness, and scare yourself on the highway when you blip the throttle, causing your car to downshift, violently.

Ha, thats what started this thread LOL!
Except for that I havent had it tuned yet.
American racing headers were installed yesterday and WOW what a difference in the sound and power. Checking out different places for a tune and then off to the track!
