  • Water sound when raining.

OK I know the title of this thread is confusing but let me explain.

Just curious if anyone else experiences this or am I the only one.

If I let my Camaro air in the rain for a little, like today. And I start driving I can hear water sloshing around. Sometime in the front or by the doors. And I know cars have drains and all but it sounds like a lot. Curious if anyone else noticed this or do I need to look into plugged drains.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

You fool!!! Do you realize the epic sin you've committed letting a 5th Gen see rain??????

Seriously.. I don't hear the noise you're talking about.. I hear a little of what I suspect is that, but it's usually gone in moments and nothing out of what I'd consider to be normal channeling and removal of water.

Have you checked all your cowl area surfaces for unexplained holes or loose bits? Maybe the area by the cabin vent filter? -- Is it both sides or just one?

Both sides and the front. today is the first day I noticed it.

And what you mean a sin? I'm just Washing it

I will see if the drains are clogged. I have a feeling their might be something stuck

In the owners manual for the 5th Gen, it clearly states not to expose the car to rain, sleet, snow, cold, excessive heat, dirt, dust, automatic carwashes, hard water, food, drink, pets, etc..

Is it a 2010? Check your trunk lid mine had a water leak from the bowtie hole and it was bad enough for the dealer to fix the rusting of it coming through from the inside! I knoticed little scraps on my bumper by trunk lid and sure enough the lid was rusting trough.

To expound on the trunk area, The water evacuation channel is on either side of the trunk, outside of the weatherstripping. the water should be flowing down and under the black tail light close-out panels. Can't really see how that would be blocked though.

(Though with the title, I really wanted to say it was the rain coming in contact with the outer surface of the car that was causing the noise to resonate in the cabin area)

lol like i said in the first post it was hard to explain. But it is not the sound of rain. But more as if there is water stuck in my door or trunk. the sound of rain is a little different then as if water was stuck somewhere in the car

It's coming from the front, and only when after having been in the rain, though?

mainly from the front yes. When i posted this i was hearing it behind me too.

and yes it only happens after sitting in the rain for a little bit and then when i first start driving i hear it but then it goes away. Very weird.
