  • Check your MAF wire harness

So excited. I finally got my CAI. During install noticed the wire harness for the MAF sensor was worn through to bare wires. It appears the harness has been rubbing on the power steering pully. Sad to say, new CAI will have to wait until Chevy installs a new wire harness next Tuesday. Dont know if this is common, but figured I'd give a heads up.

Sorry, no pictures. There is a plastic clip that is supposed to hold the harness to the water pump. The harness then goes under the intake tube before plugging into the MAF sensor. The harness was not connected to the water pump for what ever reason and was just hanging, therefore resting against the power steering pully. I reattached the clip and used electrical tape as a temporary fix, but the wires need to be replaced.

I have a Roto-Fab intake so mine is stretched tight. No issue with rubbing.

I have a roto fab ready to install. Was in the process of connecting the MAF on the new CAI when I noticed the bare wires. I put the stock intake back on. I dont want chevy accusing me of creating the problem when I changed CAI's. Looked good, just got to wait another week.
