Tire Pressure Sensor

Today after getting an oil change, the dealer rest my tire pressure sensors, and now one of them is reading really low. I took a tire pressure gauge to it and the pressure is right where it should be. So I have already had the dealer reset it again and it only keeps going down. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Just curious, if you tried over filling the tire does the sensor reading go up? Or stay the same?

When I was getting my wheels powder coated, the shop accidently banged one of my sensors which threw off the callibration. So I know that can happen.

I did over fill it to 38, but fist it was reading 34, then 32, finally 30. Today it went totally blank again.

Ok just got the news it was a bad tire pressure sensor. Quick fix bing done right now.

Well the sensor works fine now, but when I got home I noticed that the wheel has been scratched and gouged . Well I am going back and I want the wheel replaced. I know that is asking a lot, but it was perfect when I brought it in.

I would be pissed! Make sure if they do offer you a new wheel its not a replica wheel. I don't know if they are doing replica's yet but I know that happened on an old car of mine.

Just an update all went well at Gary Lang. They really stepped up to the plate. It started as it always does that "I don't think we did that, maybe I was a rock." To an hour after I got home I get a phone call " we want to make you happy, and we are ordering you a new wheel." So all is well and my new wheel is on its way. All I have to say is thank you to Gary Lang for being a really customer friendly dealer.

You can recalibrate your sensors yourself. The process is explained in the manual. Reset in the DIC menu and then letting air out of front left tire until you hear the horn. Work clockwise and after the 4th wheel is done, horn beeps twice. You have 5 minutes to complete the process. I have to do it everytime I switch to a different set of rims.

I wish it was that simple, but the sensor was bad and had completely died. All things are going good, so I have no complaints.

Just got the call today my new wheel is in. Just need to get over there. I want to get it done before the Hooters Cruise.

All is done. Went over to Gary Lang yesterday, and got my brand new replacement wheel installed. Looks great. Thanks to everyone in the Gary Lang service department.
