  • lowering...

I have been throwing around the idea of lowering the camaro.

I know there are a few options out there for lowering springs.

I was looking at the SLP 1' drop springs. Anyone use them?

What else should I do / have done at the same time?

I use Eibach suspension kit which includes stabilizer bars and springsImageUploadedByTapatalk1344377522.280803.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1344377556.812188.jpg. You defiantly need an alignment. The ride is surprisingly smoother than it looks. What ever you choose if you need a shop, let me know I can have one of my shops do it for a discount. AcornTire.com for locations.

In my opinion, I don't think 1" is enough for our cars. I have Belltech 1.4" springs all around. Sometimes, I think my car is too low in the back, but it sure looks mean from behind. I think the perfect kit would be 1.4 front and 1.25 in the back. All depends on how you want it to look and how much you are willing to sacrifice on ride quality. My ride has definately changed from stock. Stiffer, but I like. Apex offers a BMR set of 1.4 F, and 1.0 R which might be the way to go: BMR Fabrication Springs - Red, Set of 4, 1.4" Front / 1" Rear Drop SP025

Coilovers are the way to go like Bubbles suggested and will give you more performance. But, you're talking about more $$$$ too.

If you do springs, go ahead and spend a little more and do sway bars too, wish I had done that.

              Good luck!

So many options/idea's. I like the airbag setup but that's out of budget!

I am close to 16k miles on my car already in 9 months. I do HOPE to slow down on driving it once I get this SUV and it definitely won't see snow but on nice days its too hard to pick another car over the camaro.

I don't want to sacrifice too much comfort as I will be possibly road tripping it down to Florida this year, south carolina next year and wherever CF4 will be.

Whatever Randy's car was lowered to before, I think that's the max I would do, not sure how much it was. I'd like to lower mine 1-1.25, somewhere in there.

                        I was ~1.5" F/R...

I can tell you that potholes and speedbumps = "teh suck"

I'm ~ 1" lower now after my coilover replacement.

KW V3 coilovers aren't that bad price wise and they are awesome for both track and daily driving.

They have separate high speed valving so you set them up for daily driving and basically leave them alone.

Also they are one of, if not the only, coilover offered for the Camaro that are developed on a track and then brought to the marketplace. There are quite a few pro-drivers that SWEAR by KW. Also I think they might be the only company that offers a LIFETIME warranty on their V3 & V2 setups.

The only down side I have encountered is the company is based in Germany and they have a weak translation for the install instructions.

I'm definitely thinking about the rake look. I'm going to look into those coil overs. Bubbles how low did you go?
