recall for air conditioning

I was at the dealer for an oil change and they told me their was a recall for the air conditioning. It was a 40 minute update on computer. The recall supposedly came out in the last couple of days. FYI.

I wonder if that`s the same one that`s been out. Had it done last August. They reprogrammed the BCM.

My car is a 2011 SS, the service guy did not say which years or models. He just said my car needed the recall.

Per an IM convo I was having with Octane, sounds like I need to take care of this, my AC was not blowing cold today and he said he had the same problem too a while back.

I bought my 2011 in August and it still needed the update. Dealer told me about it when I brought it in for a damaged tire a week after I bought the car. You think they would check that stuff the day you buy the car. Had I not needed to bring the car back a week later for a bad tire, I probably would not have gotten notified of the update at all.

I called up my dealer and she said she didn't see anything in the system, but I'm going to swing by there today and have them check it out while I'm up in Glenview for a business lunch. I have a 2010 so I'll see what they say.

Recall 11160A & it's only CERTAIN 2011 Camaros... It's just a BCM reflash
And it's been out for almost a year now

And if you are going to a dealer for regular maintenance &/or repair they should be pulling your IVN each and every visit... If they aren't without a damn good reason (computer/Internet failure, ect) Find a different dealer.

I went to the dealer today, and they said I was .5 lbs low on Freon. No leaks up front, we will monitor. The TSB like Heather is saying is for 2011, I did ask.

I drove to/from Octane's house today, and I noticed that my AC was not cool (enough). Something Tim said got me thinking a bit, he said maybe some sort of flap door might be sticking?

I had to turn on the defroster and it was super cold. So the system can create cold air but in regular mode it's not as cold as it should be. I will get this looked at.
