I would like to know that as well, along with the price of bolt up cost on the light wheels as well....

As cool as it is that they finally added a touchscreen -- the location is complete fail -- what a terrible place to put your eyes -- should have been up near the top of the dash and move those vents over! What were the engineers thinking?!

I wonder why solid instead of hollow sways?

Also, too bad no 'Vert or Automatic versions... Other than that, seems great.

do you realize what they would have had to do to move the radio/hvac controls up in the dash? only rework the entire hvac system routing, plus some... totally not worth the cost to do so. The location as-is is not bad, and if it were really that bad, it would have been illegal. The G8 never had the nav system that was planned due to it being too low in the dash... so.... if Gov't says it's OK, then I'm cool with that (in this case)

There's plenty of conversations on solid vs hollow bars, but most still feel solid bars offer better performance, though not sure by how much.

the lack of auto is a bit surprising, but may have more to do with the gearing and setup of the car.... 'vert? hello added weight... the opposite goal of this car.

That's not what this car is about.... Either of those will ruin the purpose... This isn't a show toy, it's supposed to be an actual racer.

Novice question, why is an auto such a bad idea for a track car? With the paddles you can still control shifting.

Because we don't have a DCT... I personally just don't think the Camaro auto is at home on the road courses, just like I don't think the manual is at home on the drags. If the 1LE came with one of the high end semi-auto trannys, that would be awesome..

I'll meet you there as long as it doesn't rain. It'll be fun packing 2 17" drag radials and a jack in the Vette.

I agree with Wiki. Each trans type has its place on the track. When people say the automatic is not well suited for serious road course, realize this refers to many different types of cars, some that don't come with a tap shift like the Camaro. In drag racing you lose time shifting a manual, on a road course you can lose time because of the trans not shifting into the correct power band when exiting curves. While you might overcome this with a tap shift, not all road courses have gentle curves where shifting on the steering column wouldn't be a challenge. Imagine trying to downshift while in the middle of a hairpin turn and you're furiously turning the steering wheel. Now if you moved the tapshift down to the floor shifter that would certainly improve your time.

or 20" drag radials in a camaro. I guess I have a little more space than you though.

That makes sense. I can barely make a right turn and still find the taps on our enormous steering wheel.
