ok so need some advice here. All this week the brakes squeek NO MATTER what. Every time I stop. I know that "brembo's will do that". Before it was a few times a day. Now its every day.

Is there something GM will do? Or do i just have to upgrade them myself?

Yeah I was hoping it didn't go to that. I guess I will have to see what I can do. Thought those darn roller skate weight things were supposed to help!

Mine squeal when slowing or lightly applied.. That vanishes as I apply more pressure or am stopping from higher speed.

yeah see it doesn't matter the speed they always squeal at every complete stop i make. one thing that has always bugged me was squealing brakes. To me it shows lack of care of your car.

High performance brakes make noise in general.. But, these aren't quite that.. I think these noises are why we got roller skate weights after the taped on wheel weights..

I'm not a brake guy, so I can't offer you full tech solutions and I'm not going to guess on something that prevents you from hitting things..

Though, I'm glad my original thoughts on your other two issues were the actual reasons and I wasn't just lying to you.. LOL

it just doesnt seem like these roller skate weights are working lol. I will see what the dealership says. If I have to there will be a set of stock ss brakes up in the for sale section.

Steve, get a can of brake cleaner and try to clean both sides of the rotor and spray the pads down. While my Camaro doesn't make this noise, my Harleys would and it was caused by dirt getting in between the pad and the rotor. Since we don't have slotted rotors, they won't self clean. And watch not to get brake cleaner on your paint and plastics.

From what I understand the roller skates are there to dampen vibration from high speed stops. This squeal sounds more like a dirt issue.

I agree with his assessment, have found the same issue on other cars from time to time. It should go away soon. If your afraid of the brake clean dripping on your painted rims, go Power wash the shit out of the pads and calipers at the hand car wash and get it up on the highway right afterwards when they are still wet and do some hard breaking, (dont get rear ended)LOL. I have found that has helped to dislodge the grit between the pad and rotor also
