  • Suspension upgrades- where to start?

I was thinking of doing a small upgrade to the suspension, but at this point, without lowering springs. (more clearance helps in the snow!)

I want to do one upgrade at a time. Will I get the most benefit from, say a rear sway bar upgrade, like the Pfadt balance bar, (or another 25mm rear bar) or a bushing kit like the Pedders Street 1 kit? (Street 1 kit contains rear cross member inserts, and radius rod bushings)

I'll probably have the car out to Byron a time or two, but probably not much more racing than that, but better handling cars are more fun all around

I was going to say, making suspension mods like that probably won't help you too much at the drag strip, but if you did autocross thats a different story!

You could post to Camaro5 forum in the suspension section an ask the question. I want to autocross/track and stated my desire for the level I wanted to be at. Pfadt and BMR gave me suggestions for what to start with. Pretty much both gave me the same answers. For autocross you're looking at sways, coilovers, rear differential bushings, and trailing arms. From there you could expand but at that point you have to weigh cost vs. how serious you want to be. For me, the above list is my goal and I'll likely stop there.

I'm sure vendors there will give you advice on what things to swap for drag racing to be at the level you want or what you want to get rid of, i.e. wheelhop.

Update: Never mind. I see you already posted earlier today.

I did, and they have. Also had another member suggest SS springs and front sway as an inexpensive upgrade as well

Check SLPs eBay web site. I've seen both on there over the last month while searching for a spare set of Brembos. Yes there were pretty cheap.
