WHY do dealerships always like to pull the switch on you? You talk to one person so long and start building a relationship between the two and then out of the blue someone else starts emailing you back on the original email or you show up and someone else always has to help you.

that depends upon how the first contact is received and the dealer set up. here we have an internet sales manager that handles all of the leads from the internet until they are ready to be turned over to a floor sales person, it streamlines the process and allows the sales people to be able to field ups from the lot and phone and not have to be tied down to the internet leads, which you have a time limit to respond to per GM and there is no certain time someone is going to start a lead via the internet... we even get them at 2 am here at Caddy.


heck we even get leads from CAC and Onstar at all hours of the day and night for service and sales.

phone and lot ups - if you are greeted by one, then come back on a day that your original sales person is sick or off, or even quit... would you rather no one helped you?

i hope this answers your question... what it boils down to is staffing and job assignments to reduce length of wait for contact and/or information.

I understand walk up and stuff like that. But I don't like the internet deal. I'm doing all my communication by emails. I want to deal with the same person in person as I do in emails. There is always some form of mis communication. such as "oh there is no way he gave you that price" just as an example.

Make sure you print it and bring it in. thats all you will need to prove it. and if that doesnt happen, walk out or at least threaten.

there is no way to handle the volume of internet leads any other way, even more so at a chevy store. they get 100's a day at all hours and some are bogus and some are not, and we cant ignore the ones that we think are because that is bad business practice.

unfortuately... the internet and the consumer's (sometimes unrealistic) expectations have caused it to be that way... thats why i dont go thru the internet for any car deal, granted i dont have to but, even still i wouldnt purely because i know that is the way it has to be handled. GM requires an average response time of UNDER 2 hours to all leads fed thru cobalt, if someone contacts the dealership on Saturday at 11pm, unless you have a dedicated internet sales person with a smartphone who can contact the lead with hard data and not just a preprogrammed response (because those do not count in GM's eyes or the consumers) you cant get back to them in the 2 hour time frame, the earliest would be 9am on Monday when sales opens.... not to mention that unless they can get into the DMS you cannot access the hard data on any unit.

I know the salesman I had my mom and sister get there cars from at a local dealership told me that there internet emails come in and everyone has access to them so if they don't have a customer they can get on there and start emailing.

Keep in mind, if you mod the LS3/manual, more opportunities to break stuff!

What is weaker on the manual then the auto?

Also how much modding are we talking? I want to do intake and exhaust for performance and sound then most likely will do appearance stuff.

You will be fine with those mods on either car.... he is refering to the early 2010 that where abit buggie and had weak links...
