    $800 for 2 mufflers!? JEBUS!
    Fairly standard...

SLP's Loud Mouth II is 600 and PowerFlo is 700

Hell, the Loud Mouth 1 (which is pretty much straight pipes and tips) is 450.00

    (that's why I mentioned used)

Hell im tempted to just save my axle back from the G8 and cut it to make it fit the Camaro. It drones pretty bad though.

You have headers... You don't really have that issue on a 5th gen, unless you remove, modify or replace the cats to high-flo.

I had an SLP LoudMouth II on my car for almost a year and didn't have issues with drone until I went with Headers and HighFlo cats..

I had drone the minute i put those mufflers on my G8. With or without headers 90% of G8 exhaust's drone. I'm making a shopping list right now lol. Oh I also mentioned this in another thread but no one replied to it.

How much different can the Doug Thorley G8 headers be from the Doug thorley camaro headers? They fit the G8 gxp which is a ls3 and its on the same zeta platform.... I emailed them a month ago and never got a response.

I have no idea on the Doug Thorleys... You might want to email them directly and ask.. Some headers have steering shaft clearance issues, so I don't know how much different the tube bends are, routing, etc. The heads may be the same type, but their position relative to everything else under the hood is different. For example, if you have a TVS on both a G8 and a 5th Gen Camaro -- you can't change the pulleys on the G8 without sliding the S/C housing forward. On the 5th Gen you can do it with everything in place.. You do it blind and by touch, but it can be done... The cowl/wall makes the different there.. I've never owned a G8, so I can't really help you there -- I just know about the TVS thing from Jessika@Magnuson.

On the drone issue... I can just tell you that with SLP LM II w/ otherwise stock exhaust I had no noticeable drone.

I like my GMPP because it is louder and deeper but not so obnoxious that I am kicked outta the house by the BF because the neighbors complain about me leaving at 6am and coming home at 10pm or so
Racing is my life, everything else is just minor details.

When it comes to mods choose them for their benefits, HP or aesthetics, and not what might be covered by GM warranty. Your B2B warranty is 36K miles but your power train warranty is 5 year 100K miles. The real key is choosing the right dealer to perform your service and warranty work. There are some that will work with you and your mods and some that will flat out turn you away.

I have installed all of my mods myself, with the exception of the tune, and have a Service Adviser that knows my car is modified. He works with me and I have not had any issues with any of my warranty work yet but I also have not had any major issues. I did have a clutch issue and even with my mods it was still taken care of.

There is a former member that had done a lot more work than I and he had a major issue with his drive train. But because it was a known issue and since he took it to one of our sponsors, which also happens to have a speed shop, they took care of it for him.

If you are truly worried about having a warranty, Libertyville Chevy is a sponsor and has worked on a number of members cars. They have done everything from exhaust work to cam installs for our members and they warranty their work at their shop.

So there are two examples of choosing the right dealer to service your car at with whatever mods you choose. So IMO, take your time and do it right the first time. Choose the mods that make you happy with your HP requirements.

                  T.

BTW, Corsa FTW and no drone.
The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

See.. I hate mine.. The people above me have a little heathen over every weekend or so that they let run completely amok on the wooden floors from 6am or so, all day and then in to the evenings... The people below me talk so loudly from room to room that I know more about them than I do my live in girlfriend. The people down and to the right of me like to have parties till all hours of the night and will sit outside (we're on the 1st floor) and yap till 3am right outside my bedroom window.. while listening to music and dragging the metal furniture around. The people that used to live below us would have Rock Band parties till all hours of the night, come in at 3am drunk, banging on the doors they couldn't operate and then yell to each other between rooms. Just last night, I had to walk to the front doorway and close it because I felt and heard the draft because someone couldn't be bothered to close the damn thing.. Then there's the stomping up and down the front and back stairs all hours of the day and night with mass hordes of people... You'd think with the amount of money I pay in rent, that intelligent people would live here.. Some how, I live with a bunch of rich a-holes.

I'm tempted to uncap my exhaust at the cats about 4am and just rev up...

I have Borla S-type cat-backs and at & above 2K RPM I have drone. The faster I go, the louder it gets. I pray the headers don't add to it below 2,000. At 2K I'm doing 75 so most of the time it's not a problem except on the interstate.

I had it at 1800-2100 RPM in the G8. On the interstate below 70 was good and above 80 was good.

I am going to have to do my research. its half the fun of buying a new car.

I didn't think so, at least from what I read. They both should have parts available in the GMPP catalog, but that doesn't mean that GM will cover warranty on the parts, (Bubbles, correct me if I am wrong) but The presence of GMPP licensed suspension parts should NOT void any suspension warranty, the parts themselves are still warrantied through the original manufacturer. And yes, some dealers, that are comfortable can and will install the parts.

I am going to see if a dealer will give me a gmpp catalog. Think I read somewhere that they cost money to get.

Hell maybe I'll see what I can do with negotiating a gmpp exhaust thrown in with the car.

Also I saw that gmpp might come out with there own cai but only heard that for the V6.

Good news, picked up my daily driver today, put a new battery in and it's at discount tire getting some perellis installed.
