Here's the thing about that... Unless you're going to go with more cubes or FI/N20 or other serious mods.. In an LS3, there's really not much power found, nor is there really much restriction in the factory midsection for the amount of money you'll spend over the axle-back. There are many header systems with and without cats that will mate up to the middle section just fine.

I'm putting down 560HP/520TQ at the tire through the stock midpipes.

Now.. If you're Auto... That changes and I believe there is more power in the midsection due to the baffling... But, you'll get that AFM noise that people don't like

If you really want full cat-back, have at it.. just trying to save you some coin there if you're not looking at going big. On some systems, you're looking at 300-500 in savings w/o the mids.

Very interesting on the mid section. I still dno what im getting stick or auto lol. I'm teaching myself stick tonight. I want stick because it should be more fun to drive and a true LS3 is very appealing. The AFM in an auto i could deal with for the most part. I do have a G8 GT with long tubes and AFM lol.

I am leaning towards the LS3 stick for sure.

My opinion is to get the car first, then decide. But I would go used. Gently used but just my opinion. I actually got mine used w 6900 miles on it. Saved me over $5k!

I would definitely go over and look through the bolt-on section.. There have been many articles, posts and debates over this very topic..

The general consensus is that most all power is in the manifolds and cats.. Everything else from there back is sound and look... (mostly)... That is until you start cubing up or go with power adders...

I know I can definitely save on a gently used car. The 45th anniversary is just calling my name though. I have never owned a brand new car. But if the terms and the finances don't match up I will pass on new.

Bolt on section here I come!

Intake i'm torn between CAI and ROTOFAB.

I will have to find out the warranty thing with PFADT and Pedders (bubbles?)

I think i just need your number bubbles lol you are always helping me out it seems. Thanks
PFAdT and Pedders tho they are GM licensed they are not technically covered by GM. only GMPP (performance parts that can be obtained thru GM from a dealership or from GM direct are considered complete warranty thru GM per P&P)

GM licensing only is that they gave ok for the license, and gave them specs for the building of parts, any warranty expresssed or otherwise on GM licensed parts are the sole coverage of the manufacture of the part, not GM, just like Nike get license to print NFL jerseys but they do not own a stake in the team or the design.

a cut out, if done properly should not give you cause but if the people doing the cut out hardwire the electronics into the wrong thing then there will be an issue as far as voiding the warranty on the vehicle, the only thing that would be suspect on a cut out is where they cut it and what wired it to.

on a lighter note... i love my GMPP axle back exhaust and it carries the factory warranty with it because it was installed and purchased at a GM dealership. :P
Racing is my life, everything else is just minor details.

Hmmm I will have to hear the GMPP exhaust. I am not too worried about the exhaust. If i go aftermarket axle back the only part of my warranty that would get voided was the axle back.

Are there other GMPP's out there for the camaro? I'm going to do a search but still had to ask.

What if I had a dealership install the PFADT or Pedders? Would the dealership do that and would they then warranty the work?

only warranty thru them. no other dealership would because they have to absorb the price of the labor if something goes wrong and you dont pay for it... because Pfdat and pedders arent going to even if you are a licensed dist. for them

there are 2 different exhausts thru GMPP that are offered for the Camaro, i have the on road axle back. there is an off road package they offer as well... i have never seem or heard it tho

I have a 375.00 Overdrive Cog set sitting on my computer desk for that very reason..

[Vendor] "We're out of those, but these will work!"
[Me] "Are you sure? Seems like it would push it too much"
[Vendor] "babble, babble, sure!!! no worries.. says right here"
[Me] --- still has the damn part and no one will buy them from me.
