  • Ignition locked!

Anyone else have this problem? Tried to start the car and the key would not turn. lock & unlock worked on the FOB. Radio and light would come on, the key slid in and out smothly. I just couldnt get the key to turn for about 10 Min.

Finally, i turned the steering wheel as far to the left as possible and the key turned. I dont know if turning the wheel helped or if it randomly worked. all seems to be well now. if it happens again ill take her to the dealer.

Yes, you have to turn the wheel. Happened to me last week.

      Its called torque lock.
It is caused when pressure from the steering system is exerted on the ignition lock cylinder ,usually when the front wheels are turned or up against a curb. Just move
steering wheel back and forth while turning the key.
This can happen on any car.

It is also sometimes caused by an electrical glitch at least in my 2010 when AAC was installing the full lighting system, I was parked in their garage straight in and man the car had a mind of its own the key would not turn or come out and also the window indexing went crazy.....
