  • Convertible Top issues document here!

First I love both of my Camaro's, but have not been impressed with the lack of customer service GM is giving me and the dealer for this issue.

My top has had issues almost since I bought it, when I picked it up I noticed the rear carpet was wet and the dealer said they would document it and they did on delivery sheet, then within 30 days rub marks started and then they brushed them out, no fix, now 2-3 months later rub marks are back as well as my top is leaking, and now a hole is wearing through the top from the inside of the top. My new local dealer made the appointment to drop off my car on the 31st at 830 and it's been there ever since.....GM told them not to apply the TSB to the car even though I printed it out for the dealer and GM then told the dealer not to fix my car!
    Case number 71-1004635296
My local dealer would fix mine if GM would authorize the repairs! So far my car has been in the shop since last Monday at 830 am sitting there! 9th day and counting........GM customer service was to call me back Friday, well Josh and Shandra no calls, waiting on the call from GM Customer Service and District Rep........ Wow what service......

GM Why haven't you contacted the dealer yet since last Wednesday really 6 days ??????

Yeah, seems like the top is a known issue. We have a couple members that have had them replaced.

My buddy has same issues with his top.I told him to get dealer to document it .

I suggested that he wait a while to let GM figure this mess out then get it fixed.

A little White wine or grey goose vodka might help it slide off easier if its stuck !

Well the thread got way off topic, but good news is that with Bubbles help with a few phone calls and almost 3 weeks + waiting for parts and then testing it all out. My Camaro has a new top and dang they did it right . Heather all I can say is Thank You for helping me out and getting the district rep involved!

Now my top has no holes in it, nor does it leak and the wind noise is almost all gone and the headliner stays up where it is supposed to be! Now imagine all this going on and my GMC Acadia breaks down, transmission goes out then at the same time. Then after two more weeks with out it we pick it up and the first rain guess what happens.....The headliner is full of water and water is coming out of everywhere! You know what, without Heather helping me out my 2008 Acadia would be traded or on a Ford lot with my other cars! I was so mad at GM for first saying my Acadia 5/100K extended warranty did not cover the repairs or rental car. I called Heater and GM and within 15hrs my SUV was getting repaired under warranty and new seals, drain tube heal liner, and they even detailed scrubbed the carpets and cleaned the whole truck inside and out!

The best service I have every received, after Heather got involved and made calls to help me. I was even called by GM today and they are making a car payment and giving me what they called a component repair letter ( like and extended warranty on my top) for an extended time I will know Tuesday afternoon or night full details.

I can say I am extremely happy and very satisfied, GM went out of their way to make me happy and whole again! I am a lifetime GM buyer and will continue to be now for sure.

Heather THANK YOU for all your help to me and if anyone needs help with a warranty issue please see her and check to see if she can help you!

Now THAT is one hell of a story. With everything going on in your life this was the last thing you needed to be worrying about and I am happy that Heather was able to help you out so much.

Steve, I hope you have a much less stressful holiday and wish your family, especially your father, all the best.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.
