  • Vmax TB and what i saw

Well, just finished installing my ported throttle body. Took off my Blackwing air tube and removed my TB. I looked into my intake manifold and couldn't believe the amount oil in there! All around my TB valve was a layer of black film. I'm definitely installing my catch can before I drive the camaro again.

Even the V8s like ingesting oil...

I know I get about 1/4 cup of nasty looking oil out of my RX Catch Can when I change the oil..

When Mike was helping me unload my stock parts from his truck, I let one side of the intake drop and oil just poured out of the thing all over the ground.

I'm going to switch over to EVOO.. At least then it'll be healthy oils that it's ingesting.

^ Wow, if this is a common issue even in 5th Gens, why don't these exist from the factory?!

It's my understanding that the design is meant to burn up the recirculated oil... whether that actually happens is up for debate

I'm one of the lucky ones. When I changed my intake, I found no oil at all.

                      ... I didn't either, though I changed mine at 1500 miles

So, it looked dry and clean in front of the butterfly?
