    glad to hear that they are taking care of you.

    as far as the hurst short shifter, it definatly is a more solid shifter and if they install it there is no way they can argue it affecting warranty.

    but a ton of people state the MGW is a much more solid shifter assembly for the price.

      The GM shifter is discontinued.

        you might have to wait for the 2012 to be produced because it is still showing up on their order and pricing list

          Look up MGW shifters. Put one in mine and love it. It's all billet aluminum and cost pretty much the same as the Hurst shifter.

            I know the mgw shifters are great but I wanted it dealer installed so if I have anymore trans problems they can't blame an aftermarket shifter or installation.

                Do you guys think it makes sense that the 1-2 synchros caused it to lock me out of shifting into 3rd or any other gear for that matter. It was stuck in neutral and would not budge. I shifted 1-2 fine and when I got on it and went from 2-3 is when it locked up. I asked him to have the tech check the other synchros also.

                    I called twice and asked that they double check everything. Maybe someone that knows trannys can explain it?? The said that breaking the 1-2 synchros can/will cause it to lock up like it did.

                      Its possible in the process when you were shifting the synchros broke and your shifter jumped the rail and is now stuck in neutral. From my understanding if only those two gears broke you would have been able to limp it home in another gear. I would definitely have the dealer do a full trans check.

                          So then I'm assuming you didn't only blow those two synchros, you also jumped the shifter rail and the car got stuck in neutral.

                            If the dealer gives you any Problem please use Jeff as he replied on your other post on the other forum. He is the man for Customer Service for GM.

                              I guess, if that's possible?? The dealer hasn't given me a hard time at all. Just asked what happened and went from there. Called me this morning and said they found the problem and ordered all the parts.

                                Good news please ask them to save the old parts to see what failed and have them explain what caused the failure if they will?
