  • Help!

My wife has a 2004 Cadillac SRX with an aftermarket remote start from Hornet. It will just start on it's own randomly through out the day. Anything????

    Whoa! That doesn't sound good.
Could it be like butt dialing? I do this all the time, ha.

do you know where the brain box is for it? might unplug it, leave it unplugged for a few minutes and plug it back in

I've never heard of Hornet... but you should also post up a thread on thechicagogarage forum, one of the members there, JDhedman installed my remote start in my Monte Carlo, he's the head installer at a Best Buy (yes, some best buy guys do know their stuff)

remove the battery from the key fob and see if that resolves the issue. Its possible it could be shorting out. If it still starts then it is a issue with the car. Hope that helps and good luck.

Tried that but it wasn't that. Thank you though.

The dealer should be able to program a new code.

Hell, I can't even find the brain box. Giving up, going to take it into Best Buy and let them take a look.

I think you are going to need a GM dealer. Recode the car and keys.

It shouldn't cost you any more than your time.

It's not a factory system, doubt the dealer will be of any help...
