  • Clutch issues??

Has anybody had any "slippage" issues with the SS? I had it happen a couple times last week, into 2nd gear. Colder start, had it warming up for about 10 minutes before I left. How touchy are these clutches?? I read on the camaro5 forum that people have had some issues. Am I the only one here? And yes I was driving it correctly : ) foot was totally to the floor haha. My SS has 1100 miles on it.

I'm at 1600 and I haven't had any problems with the clutch.

Slippage? No. Stickage, yes. Mine was replaced at 9K miles and the problem still exists.

I had the problem for the first 1500 miles or so. It would stink even with the slightest slippage. But now my clutch only stinks if I actually do slip the clutch pretty badly.

I also noticed a 2nd to 3rd grinding issue initially, which appears to have gone away, but it could be that I haven't driven it as hard as I did during the summer.

I had the stink and slippage. Dealer wouldnt do anything so I just repalced it with a LS7 clutch. No issue since than and ugh doing a clutch on your back is a pain.

I get random burning clutch smells, but it's usually when I'm taking off from an incline or switching between forward/reverse.

I get refusal to go in to 1st from a dead stop (in N) or down in to 1st during a down shift at times.

I also get a subtle grinding sensation through the shifter between 1, 2, and 3 (differing combos of patterns).

I've had it at the dealer twice now and they claim 0 problem.

Reads as if you aren't always flooring the clutch.

Pull the seat up a notch or two. If that works inch it back until you are comfortable and can still push the clutch all the way in.

It's a very common problem. I HAD the problem with extra slippage and griding gears (synchro) while cold. I haven't noticed it in a long time. However, some people's problems are worse than others.
