I brought my car into the dealer to have a little issue checked out. I’ve noticed some annoying vibrations coming from the back of the car when I turn the stereo up. Granted, it happens when I listen to bass-heavy music, but my Jeep has never given me this issue; so I feel like my Camaro (with the Boston setup) shouldn’t have it either. I’m not sure where exactly it’s coming from, but it sounds to me like a panel may be loose. It’s a buzzing sound, and I’m sure it’s not a blown speaker, because it doesn’t buzz or rattle when I’m not listening to anything bass heavy (like rock). I notice that the rattle starts when I get the volume past 10 to 15, it varies on how severe it is and how often it happens.
Anyway, I brought it in, and the service guy sat in the car with me. I showed him the issue, and he said it was because of the song just having a lot of bass in it. To be sure, we went into the showroom to compare. It’s true, the other camaro didn’t rattle – but its EQ settings were all set at zero. So I go home with the assumption that I probably had the bass up too high (EQ was set at Treble-8, Mid-6, Bass-8). Driving home, I set the EQ flat at zero. The rattle was mostly gone, but it’s still there when I turn the volume up. The sound is lifeless now with everything at zero. Have any of you had this issue? I honestly feel like my dealer just doesn’t really want to look into it for me. It bugs the crap out of me, and the sound from this supposed ‘premium Boston acoustics’ setup is not ok. I'd really appreciate your guys' help here!
