  • Remote Start Help!!!!

I bought a remote start onlione and am in the process of installing it. The problem I am having is that the remote start only works when the actual car key is in the ingition. I did purchase the box to bypass the immoblizer but am still having this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

No problem....It;s just extremely baffling because it must be something small I'm missing because it works just not the proper way.

The proper bypass should have a place for a second key to be inserted.

Yep. Looks like the Camaro still needs a key permanently in the brain box.

it's a bit hard to tell, but both xpresskit and Flash-it Audiovox interfaces both take a key, i would bet that the Fortin unit you're looking at needs one too. If you have the one it seems you have, it does not support "Key Control" for the Camaro (where the oem key gets put into the unit)

Does that mean it is incompatible then.....or that I just doesn't require the oem key

it reads to me like it doesn't handle the authentication of the key, but I'm not real familiar with those units. It would be advisable to call their tech support line to find out for sure what you need.
