  • Were to bring my car to get work done?

    Hey yall
ok so i live on the southside of chicago.
i just purchased the XS power headers and exhaust over at c5
i plan getting a few more small things (intake, ported tb, ect...) before i bring the car out of hibernation.
just wondering what a good shop thats knows what they're doing at a fair price

i would like to get electronic cut outs and high flow cats installed into the catback and i believe some one was saying that 321 stainless is hard to work with
im also thinking of getting tip to tip stripes painted so maybe an all in one shop?

just trying to get things straight so as soon as the weather breaks i can give my car a quick makeover
    thanks guys!

There is two good shops for performance
    Speed inc
    803C Albion Ave
    Schaumburg IL 60193
    847-891-0767

    and then

    Benchmark tuning
    1615 N. 25th Ave.
    Melrose Park, IL 60160
    708-223-8516

but as far as strips and cosmetic items I would go with Pete from ShowStopper

I'll pass along another place for the exhaust work you are looking for - Fair Muffler in LaGrange does very good work, including custom fabbing.

May I also suggest Countryside Customs in Warrenville, they can do both. They do paint and engine work. Their number is 630-393-6665, and tell them what you would like to do.

You definitely want to make sure that whoever does the install on the headers etc. is fully capable of doing a tune in order to make all of those mods work effectively.

                Thanks again everyone

i think i'll see what speed inc has to offer i've heard nothing but good things.
anyone ever deal with modern muscle in oswego?
friend of mine brought it GTO there for a custom grind cam install and tune for 1K as a tax season special last year, maybe they'll run it this year because im pretty sure thats a really good deal.

Showstopper, i plan on comming to you for something this spring. i was considering some work a few months ago but the money wasnt there so hopefully this spring i can get a jump on the few things i want to have done.
can you PM me a ballpark estimate on tip to tip stripes and also tip to tip stripes with a new hood
i would also like to throw the black phantom grill with the option of having it backlit in orange
we'll see in a few months when i bring the car out of storage

                thanks again guys!!!

I have used Modern Muscle in Owego 1 time, and I have used Speed Inc. once also. That being said, my car will be back at Speed Inc. in a month or so.....

Speed is the go to place. My car was there for cam, headers, exhaust and other goodies last summer. In May,it will be going back for ported heads and supercharger install.
Larry is easy to work with and will without a doubt steer you in the right direction for your build.

can anyone shed some light on the XS power system? I've been considering it since it seems like a great deal. But I feel like a grand for headers and cat-back sounds like it's too good to be true.
