  • Crappy Day

So yesterday with no snow in the forcast I decided to take Black Betty to work so she could stretch her legs. Ran to Staples and when I left it sounded like the Car was gonna freakin blow up. Had to have her flat bedded to the dealership and today they called to say it was a Piston Valve Spring or some such part. He said this is a first for them on the Camaro and will have the new part tomorrow. Sigh of releif.Sad Day.jpg

That's sad but at least it will be fixed quickly. It supposed to be pretty nice this weekend, would be nice to take ours for a short spin too. Dave wants to know when did you get the new spoiler?

I had all the lfters replaced for excessive bleed down when the car was off, Was it the spring in the lifter Dan or not, if it was, they should be pulling off both heads and replacing them all according to the tbi, Its the safer route to go and a real fast job if its done right, GM has designed a new lifter for the engine that recently came out. I have not heard about a problem with the actual spring in the valve though, thats a little different. We need to start fishing around for any tbi's on that problem.

I thought the problem Bill had was only for L99 engines.

Kathy, Tell Dave Pete did the spoiler a couple months ago when he painted the Brembos and did the front diverter. I have a call into Chevy about what part they are replacing and if there is a bulletin out for the LS3 engine. I'll update the post when I hear back.

So they replaced the valve spring but he doesn't like the way it's idleing so they are going to pull the heads next. So, it will be a few more days yet. Poop!!

So it was a fluke thing but my intake valve spring went bad. It was stuck in the open position which caused heat damage so they had to replace the valve spring. both cylinder 7 valves, intake manifold injector. Purrs like a kitten once again.
