hey guys so i have a 2lt rs and i got the windows tinted 20% all around i was so happy with it. come to find out now that its getting colder my rear defroster got messed up by the tints shop. i went to CAR TEKS in schererville and now they dont want to own up to the problem . i took the car in tot he dealer thinking it was a defec at first but then they showed all the scrapes on the rear grid that these idiots left behind (not to mention all the damn glue on my seats). so pretty much now im going to take the shop to small claims because they wont even give me back my money or replace my rear window. the dearler was nice enough to somehow get the window fixed under warranty. . its actually in the body shop as i type all this up. im going to pick it up tonight and leave it as is with no tint for the winter. then when im sure it works fine re tint BUT SOMEWHERE ELSE. so just letting you guys know car teks will not hold up their end of the deal for the life time warranty because i also have bubbles everywhere on my front windows that lui (the owner) keeps saying will go away after four months :-/. come on now!

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up!

Nice to see a dealer that steps up to get a problem resolved.

Umbra window tinting in Schaumburg is giving C5G members discounts.

Umbra is a hike for me too, but I would go there since it's recommended.

I think there's a local place about a mile from me though, might try them out.

The back window defogger strips are very sensitive. Had some issues with my Impala with a couple of decals I had on inside and decided to remove. Thank god they replaced the rear window under warranty. I am skeptical about putting any tint on the back windows period. I'll have to check with those of you that went through with it after the winter and see how it went.
