  • Mod friendly dealer?

I have a "shimmy" in my rear suspension and took it to Wickstrom today.. in the past they were pretty good. Now that won't even look at it because of the aftermarket suspension.

Can anyone recommend a dealer that will at least diagnosis the issue before dismissing it?

    Thanks.

Castle Chevy in Villa Park, IL is pretty good with mods. I haven't had experience with them yet (but i will soon!) but Dans car (CAI + tune) has been in and out of that place with no hassle.

If your suspension is aftermarket, why don't you take it to whoever put it in (unless it was you)?

FWIW, I have head that Libertyville Chevrolet is also good with mods (heard from a Corvette owner).

Ya it was self installed and pretty simple at that. BMR toe rods and trailing arms plus pfadt springs and sway bars.

The best Chevrolet Service Shop I have been to yet is Stasek in Wheeling, they are also one of the very few dealers that also have a body shop in the area. They never had a problem with my mods...

I had a bad experience with Libertyville Chevrolet -- they did not install a new window regulator properly and apparently never inspected their own work because the window did not even go all the way up, but told me the car was ready to pick up!

Grossinger in Palatine is one of the worst -- stay away from that one -- too many bad stories to tell about that shop (Stasek's had to fix one of the windows that Grossinger messed up and refused to fix! Body shop and GM had to get involved!). Had some bad experience at Woodfield Chevrolet in the past, and Boehmer Chevrolet in Wauconda seems pretty poor at troubleshooting.

What exactly is it doing? Sounds like you might have hit a curb or something.
