So I thought I would let you all know

I was getting a few things for my car and I inquird in case I ever need a new Bulb for the headlight, and asked the Dealer,

    Hope your sitting down!

$299.00 !! and thats not the Halo but just the HID BULB cause it has some kind of a module on the back end of it. Didnt sound right to me, I dont ever remember driving an auto with such an expenive set up.

    Just an interesting fact.

    It's HID. High-end stuff that's expensive.

They also don't burn out as quick as normal bulbs (normal life is 2k hours).

really only 2k that doesnt sound like alot over 365 days, thats 5 &1/2 hours each day so basically if you drive the car everyday and drive 2 hours in the dark the headlight will go out after two years when your warranty is still in place, really? Would they do that, do you think it is covered under the warranty or no or did you mean 20,000

The headlights only come on when it's dark, so, 2 hours in the dark gives you 1,000 of those trips.

I believe the HID's are six times the life of halogen.

is the halogen 2K or the HID's 2K cause thats 3 years then for someone with a daily driver and a commute but 6 years for normal daily driver and regular commute so I guess that sounds like they would need to be replaced right after your warranty is out, NICE! GM REAL NICE! lol

            Here is the scoop...

The average service life of an HID lamp is 2000 hours, compared to between 450 and 1000 hours for a halogen lamp.
Again, this only counts when the headlight is on, and, on the RS versions, is only when "dark". The DRL's are on during daylight hours.
