Help with deciding on going SS

Ever since day 1 I always wanted the SS versus the lt, but price kept me out. Now, SS prices are really reasonable and I can swing one. Steve pointed out that c5 had some good deals listed, and I found an unbelievable car that is putting 440 down at the rear. It has a cam and LT header package, plus upgraded exhaust and CAI. My only concern is are the upgrades too much. I can change oil in a car and that's about it. The upgrades were done by a well respected tuner, but should I have long term concerns? I really want to keep to car for a long time, but have no idea how a car would hold up when the power is upped by about 100hp (its an L99). Any insight is appreciated before I start really trying to pursue the car .

I could find a stock SS, but the sound on this car was unreal. Plus, I like the power boost it has.

First question you have to answer is weather or not you want an engine warranty. You've got to figure worst case scenario and not count on having one. After that, its all down hill

The z will not be in my budget for several years (darn daycare expenses!), 30k is about the top for me right now.

I am wrestling with the whole warranty issue, but man this car sounds so good. And its a chevy, chevys don't break. Ha!

You can always change the exhaust. We didn't even know the price of ours until we did the whole financing thing. The other good thing is that we refinanced through a credit union a couple of months ago and our car is worth more now than when we bought it. Finance it through a credit union.
Tony is right, the Z was first $10,000 more than the 2SS and Dave said now it is probably $15,000-$20,000 more. Who can afford that in this economy? Plus it is probably another couple of years before it is out
