  • Looking for some advice on a tourqe converter

I plan on buying a TQ in the spring along with some drag radials and want to know how high of a stall I should go with and what brand. I do plan on doing gears, cam, and heads but that won't be for at least another year or so.

Hopefully PSJ will jump in here as he has run a few already. If you don't mind giving up a little street ability I would go with around a 3600. It will allow you to launch much harder. PSJ has run several high 11's with basic bolt ons. And probably could have gotten a better time with a bigger stall. Plus then it will be much better with your future planned mods.

I'd go 3200 if planning a mild cam, 3600 for a bigger one.

Ya I'm leaning towards 3200-3600. I'm ok with sacrificing some of the street driveability, I just want to get the stall right the first time so it'll work with whatever cam I decide to go with (vvt cam or Ls3 conversion and cam).

Yank 3200 in my build. However, my car pretty much sits in the garage. PSJ and SYCK speak good advice.

I've been pretty happy with Circle D in my 2010 Camaro SS, but I've had some Yank converters in the past too.

The converter used for a naturally aspirated application is not necessarily the best choice for a FI application. We have Yank custom build a Converter for the application. There are also different types of converters.

Give us a call if you need some help.

PSJ is an NA application. Was full bolt on last year running high 11s and now is cam with some goodies. He's had them built for him as well. That's the best route to go always
