  • Talk to me about tires!

The Eagle's that come stock on the ZL1 are PHOOEY!

I've been looking at Michelin Pilot Super Sports but am curious what your favs are. I can go all weather or just stick to summer only.

what are you looking to get out of your tires. Straightline? cornering? daily drivability?

If you go all weather you will lose high end dry traction and cornering there is always a trade off. I would be happy to talk tires. Shoot me a text.

        Right on.

Goal is to have a tire that can take all weather (there will be no snow and ice runs) but can handle 1/4 runs and the roadcourse.

I have heard amazing things about nitto invos. A good all around tire.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

With the power you're putting down, I would stick with a summer only. Most will handle rain well enough. Nittos are good, but the pilot sports are likely better. Surprised that the OE Good Years are giving you trouble

I am not surprised about the Goodyears at all. The pilot sports are a lot better as are the Pirellis. If you want the best auto cross tire there is use a 275/35/18 RE11 unless you are staying stock size then best two dry weather choices are the Michelin and Pirelli in stock Zl1 sizes and sorry the Nitto is garbage compared to these two tires and it's testing results has shown it.
The invo has a cool looking tread that's it. Also a summer tire does better in rain than all season tire will so unless useing in snow stay with summer tire

Tires are purpose built. You will not have your cake and eat it too. I have used both Pirellis and Michelin PSS on the track. The PSS are better period. However, at around 50 degrees or less they are hard and lose traction versus a nice warm day.

G-Man is right about the Nittos. People like them because they have a cool tread pattern and are cheaper than the others. You've not really said why you don't like the stock rubber on the ZL1, but if you are set to change, Michelins are great choice. At 300 treadwear they are a great tire, but they are a high performance Summer tire.

Rick, curious as to why you don't like the Goodyears. Only thing I don't like is they are like fly paper and pick up every pebble on the road. I don't have the HP a ZL1 has though.........yet.

The Goodyears slip n' slide too much. I'm going to leave them on until it's time for a new set but I'll probably purchase a set of Pilot Super Sport.

                      Do you daily drive it?

I love my Nitto Nt05R's they always put the power down and never left me spinning and I 3600lbs with 545 at the wheels.
