He included a cuter with my kit. You use the head as your guide. Basically you replace the intake valve with the cuter raise the piston to top dead center set the cuter in the head. Use a feller to set the height of the collar on the cuter and go.
It seems pretty straight forward. Just have to pull and put the heads on a bunch of times to cut then check the ptv.

You know what they say about free advise : )
But we do have some experience with LS engines.
Also, most L99 pistons are already clearanced, what year is your Camaro?
I would not use the actual head as your guide. Find a junk used one and cut off a section of it. You do risk damaging the valve guide.
If you choose to use your head and either way make certain that the guide is properly lubricated.
Put some lithium grease around the top circumference of the cylinder in order to catch any debris or shavings then completely tape off the top of the block, so that no material gets into the engine, water passages etc.
Just wipe the grease off when finished.
Always check/measure the clearance just to be safe. Know the compressed thickness of your head gasket.
The cutting tool will leave a very sharp edge/eyebrow. This sharp edge must be knocked down, to reduce the risk of a potential hot spot.
Also, make certain that the block threads are clean and have no fluid in them as when you torque the heads, hydraulic compression can crack the block.
Good Luck.
