Bigger is not always better with relatively stock motors . Torque is what ultimately wins and the bigger tube you will lose that . These cars are tanks and you need all the torque you can to get these cars out of the hole.

well when you go bigger primaries, it eliminates the scavenging affect that the header is designed for down low. Yes you could see gains up top, because once you hit the higher RPMs.. the less restriction the better. But it will lose it down low.

The most important thing to realize here is....

              The difference between 1 7/8" & 2" primaries is.... This big: |--|
The difference between stock and EITHER of those sizes is.... THIS big: |--------------------------------------------------------------------|

              Get a set of headers

                  SW headers & cats & 02 extensions($40) $924 delivered.
But TSP website says out of stock until possibly end of June.

TSP didn't show extensions. SW showed them for $40. I think I am going with the 1 7/8". IF you find somewhere that will offer a deal for 2 sets let me know.

TSP has an option right under the connection type where you pick if you want an off road or catted connector for the extensions.

Maybe Ill send them an email about a 2 person group buy haha.

Cats are pointless if you ask me, they are inefficient once they are further down stream due to the lack of heat. Some say they smell fumes BUT that may be from a bad tune or lack of due to these cars running on the rich side stock. I say save the coin and if you don't like it then order the cats, the catless connections are free anyways.

I agree 100%. These days you don't need to worry about passing emmisions. The tunes take care of that. So there really is no reason to keep them. They cost a lot, they add weight, and they hurt performance.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

My Magna Flos were great... Until I flattened them getting on a barge in Mississippi/Alabama.. I'm pretty sure that's what lead to their eventual failure. I cracked the substrates there and they just further deteriorated up at Road America and then the many 1/4 mi passes.

I was lucky and didn't have any of the quick melting issues that I saw pervasive over on Cam5. So, the whole time you guys knew my 5th Gen in its S/C form, it had cats.

I put them on because I felt the need to at least attempt to keep the emissions from my car in check and show some semblance of adhering to the regs.. That and I was unsure if I'd be moving back to Texas or not.
