Where's a good place to get my 3.91's installed?

  • #2
Libertyville Chevrolet is where I'm having my gears done now. I had 3.73 installed before, but they weren't installed right by the original shop that put them in. They had horrible bearing noise. I'm going back to my 3.45 gear and they will be replacing the bearings.

I had Florida speed and power do my 3.91s. The gears themselves are relatively inexpensive. Like 200 or so.

My shop did my gear... If its a GM gear ANY GM dealership should be able to install it and get the VCI from GM to correct the speedo and you get to keep your powertrain warranty on it then... Just FYI.

Oh... Provided they actually have the J-Tools to work on it... Apparently that's the catch sometimes.

I called 3 dealerships all of which said they could not re-calibrate the Speedo.

I've looked around a little for a complete diff, any good deals out there? I'm a little interested in trying 3.91's with my L99, but I don't want to be the first to try them in an L99 with a stall converter and stock shift points.

PSJ take a look on c5. I paid 950 for a stock SS diff. It came with 3.45s but I upgraded to 3'91s
