Well I decided to install the 3.91 gears and Level 5 axles on my car. Instead of just replacing the gears, I replaced the whole differential. Sunrise Chevy in Glendale Heights did the work which will be warrantied. They did a great job and gave me a great price. Still breaking it in but I can tell you it really goes off the line. Had to have Speed Inc. recalibrate the speedometer and shift points.
I had the dealer (Stasek) install mine and program the computer to correct the speedo. Took them a month to get the tune file from GM for a 2010. If you care about the warranty then have the dealer do it, it will cost more. You are looking at $800 for the install only plus $350 for the gear, I think it was $150 for the speedo adjustment. Mine was a manual. From what i read most shops can have it installed parts and labor and corrective tune for under $900. I would recomend putting in royal purple gear oil when you do the change.
