Fuse or battery pull are the same. Fuses are just easier.

The EPA says conventional summer-blend gasoline contains 1.7 percent more energy than winter-blend gas, which contributes to the summer blend’s slightly better gas mileage and performance.

        very nice fact there.

I would put my money on that they are throwing in more alcohol in the winter vs the summer times.

Sort of weird all the top v6 times are in November. A lot of the v8 times are out of summer blend time too.

It's the winter blend and the fact that you haven't added a vararam, long tubes and tuned it yet! Lol
A specific 93 tune will definitely help.

I can verify they don't add more. Its only 10% and regulated. We test cars all the time for ethanol content. Haven't seen one more than 10%. Unless the customer grabbed the e85 handle, yes it happens!

I know butane is added to increase the volitility in winter fuel to increase performance. Basically though, its just cold out lol. The air is denser for better performance(and fuel consumption) yes, but the fuel doesn't burn as well when cold. And the tires just won't grip on cold pavement period. I think we should be happy fuel burns so well at all the temperature ranges its put through.

              just my .02

Not doubting you but how do you know it's not more than 10%? I was wondering if this is published somewhere? I'd ❤ more info. Btw most of the public doesn't even know this is done.....sad but true

Meaning that there are tests that can be run on fuel in a vehicle to determine content. Likely when someone brings the car in for service because of poor performance or poor operating symptoms (stutter, shake, hesitation, etc)

                      I understand about testing....sigh
What I wanted to know was time frames on the winter blend.

They are all right about the testing. I have tested enough from winter and summer that all turn up 10%. As far as the winter summer gas seasons, they change depending on weather conditions. No set date it starts on.

The required summer period is 6/1 to 9/15. You probably start to get changes in may.

So i pulled the battery negative. Waited 5 min and replaced. Did not notice any performance increase. NOW the Drivers window says to lower and close. It seems that disconnecting the freakin battery messed up the power window on the drivers side. It doesnt close up the final inch when you close the door. WTF
