I have a feeling the stock rear end can really take a lot. The weakest point is the posi unit (which i destroyed on mine)
I installed another stock unit and will be installing a line lock to avoid 1 wheel peels. If i never did a one wheel peel warming my tires up at the track, i would still be running a stock rear end with now over 600+ whp and over 40 passes at the track. JRE has a good mod for the posi unit i hear works well and its around $200. plus their billet caps are a good idea too. There are guys running 10's all day with those 2 mods only.
as far as gearing, thats a tough one. I am still deciding myself. I think a 3.73 would be best just because longer gears work well for turbo cars. Id say being that would be good for you with your power level. Or even stock 3.45 gear. You make the gear too big and traction will be tough.
