  • Fuel Pump Upgrade

So i will be needing to take the next step up when it comes to fuel delivery.

    I currently am running
    *65lb injectors
    *stock pump
    *Kenne bell Boost a pump

I havent maxed out my injectors yet so i think for the time being i will be ok. Was curious on if anyone has upgrade to a double setup or ZL1 pump yet. Just like to hear feedback on vendors or products.

I am think about trying the ZL1 fuel pump, with ADM upgrade FPCM and keep the BAP for track days. Thanks everyone!

We have used the ADM setup with 85# injectors in quite a few setups. It easily supports 700RWHP.

Thanks for a response. What brand injectors did you use?

We use F.A.S.T. mostly. We currently run IDs in our car.

Last question, does their FPCM basically replace the BAP? I have heard answers going both ways. Would I be able to maintain the right fuel pressure without the the BAP?

Yes it should. I am fairly certain ADM does not recommend using a BAP with the upgraded FPCM.

LPE dual pump with ID850. Love the setup and don't have to worry about fuel at all.

The new Squash return less setup about to come out looks like it should be very good too.

Doing the ZL1 pump is just a band air in my eyes. Do it once do it right!

Hey Syck SS you can also get your stock injectors resized. I would call here Stiegemeier Supercharger Porting-Even-Flo

They resized my injectors in the Ls1 to 65lbs and I've had no issues. It only costs 150-170? It's a pretty good company.

I completely agree and normally inwoukd go that route but funds are limited at this time. And I can spend $500 on a new fuel pump and controller and be safer at my current power levels compared to what I am now. That's really what I'm looking for. When I rebuild my engine next year, I will be looking intonyour exact setup. But for now just looking for a more stable system then stock pump w/ a BAP. Until I can save up for the dual pump and ID850's.

thanks man, I will check them out. I already have a set of F.A.S.T. 65 lbs injectors in her, which from my understanding are just modified LS9 injectors. I wonder If they would be able to pump them up at all.

On C5 seems like there has been good luck with the ZL1 pump and and the ADM FCM. Just have to talk with Andy at ADM to get the tuning info.

I'm sure that the FAST can be resized BUT do NOT Use Ls9's.

The LS9 injectors shoot its injector spray pattern at an angle compared to most other injectors that spray straight. I wouldnt use LS9 injectors on anything other than an LS9 or you will be shooting your fuel directly into the port wall of your cylinder heads. Not many guys know this.

Oh no what I was saying is the FAST injectors ARE modified LS9 injectors. That's what the company does is take stock LS9 injectors and swap out nozzles and for larger ones add nozzles.

I'm not up on all the acronyms, what is FCM? I know BAP.

Does the stock ZL1 pump still require a BAP to support 500-600rwhp? (L99)

                            Fuel control module

ADM released a modified fuel control module that replaces the stock one that is located on the passenger side panel in the back seat. Essentially the results they have seen it keeps fuel pressure @ 60psi under normal conditions and 65psi under boost. So it replaces the Boost a pump.
