about 30 lbs . got an extra set in my shed if youd like them haha

well mine was 30 because when i cut them off i cut some of the exhaust too. i hear if you take the tips off and cut exactly to the back of the muffler its closer to 25-26 lbs each.

This guy has a great build thread with numerous weighed OE bits and what the replacements saved/cost.

Thanks looks like the mufflers I could run are 15 lbs each, so could lose 30 lbs maybe there.

Thinking more seriously about weight reduction now.

yeah it really is a nice list.

My actual race weight this weekend was 4000 lbs even with me in the car. so that means my car is still right at 3840 right now. and that was with just under half tank of gas too.

Easiest way to lose weight in these cars is to take a cutting torch to the line behind the front seats and remove everything from there back to the beginning of the IRS cradle....

Real weight loss in this car is difficult after a certain point and starts to get in to gutting the car and/or taking away from the daily driving ability.

DietCoke also had a very nice thread over on Cam5 before he was banned.

Wheels, tires, rotors, titanium hardware, racing lugs/nuts, etc. are great for getting static and virtual weight. That gives you the MOI gains along with the direction/speed change improvements since you're dealing with less mass.

John, you being an auto, you've got extra pounds in your mid section exhaust that us stick guys don't have.. Getting an aftermarket cat-back with your headers will give you a nice little weight loss.

He went a wee bit extreme... Tearing out seats, carpeting, in-dash and behind-dash padding, sound deadening material, etc... But, I think he was shooting for an all out track car.. I miss his posts. They were very informative in the early days of Gen 5 where there weren't all the resources there are now.

Is he? I can't tell anymore.. Too many accusations and outright admittance to alter egos and such by too many people..
