Garrett, I've started tuning my own trans stuff, fine tuning for track performance. If you still think your car could shift better I'd write down all the things you are wondering about, and schedule a block of time with the tuner to do some drive ability tuning.

My take on driveability tuning is that we all probably want like 80% of the same thing, but that other 20% would be like me liking my car to lock up the trans later than most folks.

PSJ - Has Jim at Speed been doing the driveability tuning on your trans? Since I have put in the 3400 stall and the cam, I'll need some driveability tuning. We expected this (Tony and I). I'm going to get the trans fuid and filter changed first.
      Thanks

LCPC is NOT using SLP anymore. SLP did a horrible tune on my (since departed) C6. It was taken back 3 times and still shifted horribly. They finally took it to Fast and the car ran better and they got 30 more HP out of it the trans also started acting normal again.

Based on my experience and hearing of the others I would not recommend SLP at all.

Yeah I'd jot down what you want to adjust and then work with Tony on a time.

Hmmm one post just for that? Usually says alot, one thing I've always learned over many years is that there are 2 sides to these stories. There are guys that have junk and install parts and expect it to hold up, then there are guys that do their own install and don't install parts right ie a cam an install it a tooth or 2 off not make power and blame it on tuning, guys that don't buy the proper supporting mods, guys that buy cheap and or used parts, guys that want to make a gob of power and think that their Trans and Rearends or axles are going to hold up. This happens in all the shops, there are many many more customers from Ls1tech and Chitown racing than you don't see those guys complaining about "Straightline" not SLP.

              NicKey Chicago Dyno Tuning

              NicKey Chicago Dyno Tuning

At NicKey Headquarters 16,000 sqr ft facility in Saint Charles, we have a Dynojet and a full time tuner/master tech Corey Clayton.

              Model 224xLC Features

Measures up to 2000 + hp and 200mph

This Model 224xLC can perform load tests including step, sweep and loaded roll-on

Closed loop load testing is also available by targeting engine RPM, speed or percentage of load

A simple click of the mouse or keyboard can turn the 224xlc from an eddy current dynamometer back into an inertia only dynamometer or vice versa

The vast majority of the work we perform, Dyno or otherwise is with Camaros of all Generations.

We offer tuning discounts to C5G members.

Regarding the discussion about automatic transmissions and Yank torque converters. Many torque converters require a break in procedure/period.

One of the common "automatic" mistakes we see is lack of proper break-in.

Well I made the decision to go with SLP. All of the shops I know ,FLP, Speed inc, SLP all I have heard good things about and know from personal experience they are good. I chose SLP because of a few reasons. Cost being the main one, my engine builder recommended them cause that's all he uses and I met a gentleman that had PER in Plainfield build his engine and swears by SLP on the tune. Saw and heard the car run . Impressive. Nick is taking care of me so stay tuned for updates !

I didn't specify a brand when I asked for a quote from FLP and they quoted and installed Dynatech. I didn't question it because I knew several on our forum had Dynatech.

If PFADT had their new Tri-Y headers out when I did mine, I think would have gone that route.

They're talking about Straight Line Performance, not SLP headers
