  • Chicago area performance shops?

Hello everyone, I just purchased my first Camaro last month, a 2012 2SS/RS with the L99. Was wondering if anyone knew of a quality shop I could go to for aftermarket parts and tuning. I'm in Lake County but anywhere in the Chicago area is fine with me. Thanks

Sorry, but you should go to the "Welcome Wagon" and introduce yourself. Post some pics of your ride too. That's it, I swear.

Deerfield tire co also located in lake county and can do everything for you but the body work. For body work showstoppers for sure.

For dyno tuning we have a few great sponsors as well!

Well he did say performance shops ... so i would suggest our sponsors finish line performance or one of our other performance sponsors on the sponsor subforum

                And welcome to the club

No ditto. Love Pete, but that's not a performance shop. I know we love paint and LEDs here, but speed Inc and libertyville chevy are performance shops that sponsor the club.

What type of mods are you looking to do exactly? I have had all of my tunes done by speed inc out of Schaumburg as stated above.

                      Welcome to the site!

Libertyville Chevrolet isn't too far from me. I'm going to stop by there when I get some time. Thanks for the other ideas too, if i'm in that area i'll check those out as well.

Just a few bolt ons for some extra power and better sound, cai and exhaust. I don't want to do anything that will void the factory warranty

If it's just a cai and exhaust, buy the parts online. You can install the cai, and Deerfield tire can do the exhaust cheaper than libertyville. Now for tunes, you'll need to hit up speed, Inc , flp, or straight-line. Libertyville doesn't tune, they outsource that.

A tune will void your powertrain, engine and trans warranties thru GM. if you go to libertyville to have them installed they warranty it.
