11.973 @ 120.19 w/ 2.008 60' on the PZeros. -- That was before all the Pedders stuff, when I just had the PFADT trailing arms and subframe mounts.

Tires yes.. I've been going back and forth on a cam due to the sound and power.. But, I think my clutch is starting to really get unhappy with my current power levels. I'd have to talk to someone about it before going one way for the other.. It's possible my issues I was seeing were just from over heating the OEM fluid, which should be resolved after I get this GTO reservoir installed and get a full flush with RBF600..

Though.. I really do like the idea of a mildly choppy cam and a blower..

Yeah i was reading about that issue. That would freak me out.

what were/are your original goals with the car? Did you pass them or still shooting for them?

I didn't really have any goals when I bought it.. Just wanted one, so I called up a dealer one day and had them locate one for me.. Was unhappy about the OEM performance levels, so I planned and waited for the right sales and combos to come along -- like, 25% off track-II kit as an EOY thing, or the free L5 axles with Maggy from Hendrix, sales on the intake, etc.. Used exhaust and other parts that get dirty quickly. I just wanted something fast, nice looking but not over done and just loud enough to make people notice.

I'd like to get kicked off the track for no cage and then break in to 10s.. But, there are a couple on here that will most likely beat me to 10s.

I found that while this car is hard to handle in the 1/4 mile, it really shines on a road course. There were many people this past weekend at Road America that were impressed with the 5th gens. Even in OEM form they handle well enough.

That is actually why I go back and forth on pushing the drag times more.. This car is designed more for street/road courses, especially us manual guys.. Drag strips are rough due to our weight and IRS.. While they can be made to be fast, there are some sacrifices one has to make and certain parts needed to do that and don't lend well to daily driving... Well, at least for those of us here in the city with limited space for part swaps and such...

I have never done road course racing or anything like that. Only been to the 1/4 mile once and only made 3 passes in my 94.

I would like to have something that you hear and see coming but would also like to race it sometimes.

It was a lot of fun.. Expensive.. But fun... It's like making multiple quarter mile passes, slowing and turning, then making an 1/8 mi, then turning and making 2 more 1/4 miles, then turning awhile, then making a 270° turn at 60MPH, then another 1/2mi, then running it up all over again..

Yeah I think the manual trans + weight + IRS + drag racing = potentially a visit to the axle doctor.

I've had a lot of LS cams over the years, but maybe I'm just getting older, I don't want my DD Camaro to get too loud and raunchy. At the same time I want to go for 11.99 with bolt-ons, but no blower and cam. I think I can do it.

I'm worried about the length of running the car so hard. 1/4 mile lasts a few seconds. The road racing will last a long time.

It costs more to run on a road course, plus brakes and tires. I have never made enough passes at a drag strip to have to buy gas, but after 4 sessions on Saturday at Road America, I was down to a 1/4 tank. I think you can control the brakes and tire wear by how hard you push your car. I have not pulled my wheels off yet, but I am sure I put a lot of wear on my brakes last weekend. The tires still look good for only having 3600 miles on them.

Road course for me any day over a drag strip!!!!

11.99 no cam or blower? Now that's a goal! Making mine of 11.99 with a cam seem like a low bar. Maybe get your car out to the track with that weight reduction mod you have running now.
