Did not know the LS Hot Cam was a GMPP cam. Learn something every day.

I love how my car ended up after the work they did.
Torgue converter is something I will be looking into with the cam. I know not to expect 475 out of it. In my earlier post I was talking about 100 RWHP because I know the automatics stock push around 320 to the wheels and would be happy with 420 after that work.

I would not run the hot cam.
    Overlap = loping?

Generally speaking smaller single pattern cams will have a simple "kachunka kachunka" sound.

Cams that sound really hairy have a lot of duration, overlap, and a tight lobe separation.

The LG G6X or whatever they call is very lopey.

I'd just say that a super lopey cam will turn some heads at the dealer, so I'd have a friendly dealer in mind for any warranty work.

Oh yes it will haha. Last time I was at the dealership for my oil change I picked my car up at night at the same time as someone with a built GTO. The guys there were debating who's car sounded better and wanted us to do a sound off.

As of right now the work to my car will depend on what i hear from libertyville Saturday. If I do have them do it and warranty work will be brought back to them specifically. Oil changes and such will still go to my dealership.

I think big lopey cam = doesn't like stock torque converters.

I didn't think it would lol. I wish it was Saturday already so I can be at libertyville chevy.

Anyone want to take a guess at what they would charge for
Cam + supporting valve train mods
                torque converter
                headers

I will most likely do the headers myself to save some money depending on what they say.

3,000ish for Cam, Springs, 3 bolt conversion, install + tune... Add from there for headers and stall

That was what I got for an LS3.. Don't know if L99 is different based on your whole AFM thing... I know many L99 guys convert to an LS3 type top end and fully ditch AFM altogether.

I'd rather eat the cost of converting from L99 to LS3 one time, than deal with our clutch issues, launch concerns and drive train weaknesses on the 1320... You auto guys when tuned out and on sticky give us a real run for the money.

There's an A6 over on Cam5 in the high 9s now.

yea there are the positive and negatives to both trans types. If it wasn't for the conversion and all that extra stuff I would attempt the install myself.

I've looked into getting built heads and just doing a swap when I do the cam instead of paying the labor hours to swap all the parts.

I don't have a choice... Can't do much of anything at my place due to rules/regs and space... and I don't like leaning on friends for large projects..

yea i know what you mean My car won't even fit into my garage! lol but my uncle has a warehouse for his company that he works on his car at and keeps telling me to do it myself and he will help.

He completely built his 1982 corvette.

Went from a crossfire injected 350 to a carb'ed 383 stroker and 373 gears. Thing is a beast!

Sounds like what I did... Went from a TBI 350 to an Edelbrock top end, Holley 650 4barrel, etc. etc. etc. while the engine was still in the truck... It was OK.. Ran a whopping 14.6 in the 1/4 mi..

He hasn't taken it to the track yet. He's afraid my aunt will kill him if something breaks and he wants to fix it lol. He also needs stickier tires. I'm going to try n get him there this year tho.
