Yes their work voids the powertrain & bumper to bumper limited warranties. They warranty their work at their shop only. Period. The only way it isn't is if they use approved GM accessory parts and programming thru techline.

Bubbles is correct (surprise!). When I checked on this, the only way to maintain GM warranty was to use GM Performance Parts and they have to be installed by an authorized GM Performance shop. Dealers that have performance techs are few at least in my neck of the woods, maybe not so in Chi-Town area.sigpic

Curious? Whats the difference if Libertyville Chevrolet does warranty work that GM pays for or they do warranty work that they pay for. Either way same guy works on your car and you are not paying for it. In addition who says you dont have to do tap dances to get GM to warranty anything anyway. I have personally seen Libertyville Chevy go above and beyond because its their local reputation. Sadly I personally have not had the same luck with chevrolet warranty in past.G-MAN

They took care of my crank damper alignment issue throwing my AC belts all the time and the oddness in my clutch, even after the supercharger and tune... Their thoughts were that they were unrelated to the aftermarkets parts and were easily covered under the concept of "this shouldn't be this way".
Your mileage may vary and I don't know if they can always do that, as situations differ.. But, I was very surprised by their responses. They seem to truly care about the difference between a normal OE issue and one that was caused by someone just abusing it.

You're welcome.
It all comes down to the dealer, the day, the customer and the issue. Just be respectful with them (and honest), work with them as they work with you and if you find yourself not liking the place, then find somewhere you do. There will be times that one has to own up to a problem not being GM's fault and go in to all mods with the understanding that the worst case if you'll be out of pocket on expenses. After all, it's not fair to GM to make them pay for our issues caused by modding/abuse -- but, on the opposite hand, I also don't feel we should always have to pay for OEM errors/flaws just because we mod. It's a fine line there and is where that whole "depends on the dealer" thing. I don't claim to know all the ins/outs with them, but Libertyville has always been fair with me in the past as they have been with many other people. Since this is a dealership with very good ties in the Corvette world and does great work themselves, maybe GM cuts them more slack on issues that smaller lesser known dealers would have issue with? Don't know. I just know they've worked with me on more than I would have expected and I trust them with the car.

Don't expect 475 out of an auto, without some ridiculous cam. Also, if you plan to track your car, get the torque converter put in now, that was the best mod I I have made in regards to lowering 1/4 mile times. The guys at libertyville are awesome to work with. I love how my car ended up after the work they did.

NA and FI cams can differ, though some builders take the approach that a good NA cam is also good for forced induction. The only generalization I'd make is that NA cams might be more likely to be split pattern with more overlap. Also depends on the engine, LS1, LS2 and LS3 engines like different cam shafts. I would not run the hot cam.2010 Camaro SS/RS L99
